Tell Microsoft: Don't Sponsor Hate
Recently, Microsoft was one of dozens of major companies to come out against the so-called Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and support the legal challenge to DOMA's constitutionality currently before the Supreme Court. And in 2012, Microsoft endorsed the successful legislative efforts in Washington State to legalize same-sex marriage in that state. But your company's sponsorship of the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, DC is at odds with your reputation for supporting equal rights for LGBT Americans.
Organizers of CPAC chose to placate anti-gay bigots on the far right by excluding LGBT voices at the conference, essentially making it a segregated "straights only" event. This is not something a pro-equality company would sponsor.
Please live up to your pro-equality image and stated support of equal rights by refusing to sponsor any future events or organizations that cater to or participate in bigotry.
