ENDA Passes in U.S. Senate!
Dear People For Supporter,
With its passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), the Senate chose to stand on the right side of history today. 64 Senators chose to stand with the majority of Americans who believe that no person should be fired because of who they are or who they love. They chose to stand with decency, fairness and basic common sense.
This has been a fight we’ve been in for years. THANK YOU for all you’ve done to help bring us to this moment.
The question now is whether the House Republican leadership will make the same choice or if they’ll keep pandering to their shrinking anti-gay base. We’ve seen far-right leaders claim that ENDA will be used to protect pedophiles, “harm women and children,” and “force Christians into bankruptcy.”
Speaker Boehner, who recently said ENDA will only “lead to frivolous litigation” needs to decide whether he’ll stand with the vast majority of voters who support this legislation or continue to kowtow to the extremists in his caucus and cave to the bigotry of the Radical Right.
The Senators who voted today to advance equality and the common sense workplace protections in ENDA should be thanked.

And as we move on to the House, if you have not added your name already, sign our petition now to keep the pressure on all of Congress to pass ENDA.
